Healthy Banana Puree Recipe for Infants

Stage 1 foods are for babies who are 4 to 8 months old.

Consult your pediatrician to know when exactly you should start feeding your baby.
Stage 1 foods include baby cereal or soft-cooked finely pureed fruits and vegetables. However, the fruits and vegetables you select should be thin, consistent and lowest on allergy scale so that your baby’s small tummy easily digests it.


Foods to introduce:
Cereals & grains: rice, barley, oat
Fruits: apples, pears, avocado, banana
Vegetables: carrots, peas, sweet potatoes, green beans

You should always wait for 4 days before introducing any new food, and you should not add more than one new food at a time. Banana puree makes for a great food to introduce your baby to. They are easy to prepare, readily available and are highly rich in fiber, potassium, vitamin B2, B6 and C, making it nature’s perfect food.


– 1 ripe banana
– Water, Formula or Breast Milk



Step 1: Cut the banana into small slices or cubes
Step 2: Mash it with a fork into a consistent paste. Make sure you don’t leave any large chunk of the banana.
Step 3: Mix the liquid (Water, Formula or Breast Milk) to the mashed banana
Step 4: Stir until you get a smooth and thin texture

With these four simple steps, the healthy and delicious banana puree is ready. Always feed in small quantities and stop if the baby shows any resistance.
