Dr Srisailesh Vitthala, is specialized in reproductive medicine and fertility enhancing surgeries (hysteroscopic, laparoscopic and open procedures) with over a decade of experience in India and UK.

Dr Srisailesh Vitthala after completing his MD post graduation in India underwent higher specialty training in U.K and acquired membership of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), UK.

He further trained in renowned St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, to obtain prestigious subspecialty accreditation by the RCOG in Reproductive Medicine

He worked as a consultant in assisted conception at Leicester Fertility Unit, U.K. He relocated to India to make use of his best-learnt skills and expertise to provide quality fertility services on par with western standards in India.

Dr Srisailesh Vitthala’s main interests include Ovulation Induction (OI), Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), IVF / ICSI and embryo transfers. His other special interests include one stop fertility clinics, stimulation for low / poor responders, Fertility Imaging (pelvic ultrasound/ tubal patency scans), prediction of ovarian reserve, premature ovarian failure, endometriosis, fibroids, Andrology (male infertility), menstrual disorders, menopause and fertility enhancing surgeries and general gynecological surgeries.

During his illustrated career in U.K, he was involved in many research projects that were presented at various international conferences

He has several publications to his name in peer-reviewed journals in the field of fertility.

Authored evidence based assisted reproductive technology (ART) manual /standard operative procedures (SOP) / protocols suitable for local Assisted Conception Unit (ACU), Accredited trainer in infertility & ultrasound training, Lead clinician in quality assurance of ACU. Apart from this he was actively involved in teaching and training of medical students, junior doctors and nurses.

Associated with planning, commissioning and full fledge functioning of ten (10) Assisted conception units (ACU).

Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is a rare iatrogenic complication of controlled ovarian stimulation (COS). It is one of the unpleasant complications of the gonadotropin stimulation of the fertility treatment. The pathophysiology of OHSS is not fully understood, but it is hypothesized that clinical sequelae results in massive fluid shift in to the third space leading to intravascular dehydration. This is due to increased vascular permeability substances (VGEF and other growth factors). Although OHSS is self-limiting, it is the most serious complication of gonadotropin stimulation with potentially serious and rarely fatal outcomes. 2009/10. “Audit & Re-audit on Record of Witness of Patient-Identity” St Bartholomew’s Hospital. London. U.K.

It is a retrospective audit of random selection of 50 notes over 2-3 weeks period to review our witnessing check-list (hard copy) policy at egg-collection & embryo transfer based on HFEA Code of Practice No. 18 COP 7TH, G.13.1.2 & 13.2.1. It was noted that only 74% fully complete document appears far behind 100% HFEA compliance. It was recommended that use of the ID stamps, along with Signatures to improve the compliance.

2007/8. “Outcome of Co-Flare regimen” St Mary’s Hospital. Manchester. U.K.

It is retrospective audit on the outcome of Co-Flare regimen of IVF treatment based on our unit protocol. In 90 couples underwent IVF with Co-Flare regimen patients, 12 % were tested positive for pregnancy. I have designed the proforma, collected the data, analysed the results and presented the results. We have concluded that the out come of co flare regimen in high risk women is depended on patient selection, henceforth we recommended the adherence of strict criteria for co flare regimen.

2006. “Medical Management of Ectopic Pregnancy in DGH” in Furness General Hospital.Barrow in Furness.U.K.

Retrospective study of 18 ectopic pregnancies treated with Methotrexate following local unit protocol based on RCOG guidelines. Only three patients went underwent Laparotomy. Management of ectopic pregnancies can be implemented more often than present rate.

2006. “ Reaudit of Diabetes in pregnancy” in Furness General Hospital. Barrow in Furness. U.K.

It is the retrospective reaudit after introducing the combined joint diabetic clinic to see diabetic patients in pregnancy from the previous audit. The maternal & fetal morbidity were reduced when compared to our last audit and increased rate of normal vaginal delivery.

2004. “ Postoperative pyrexia” in Gynaecological Surgeries in Walsgrave Hospital Coventry. U.K.

I had collected the data, analysed it and presented in the audit meeting with recommendations. It was about the postoperative infections after the gynaecological surgeries how are they diagnosed, investigated & managed?

2003. “General Anaesthetic rates in Caesarean sections” in Diana Princess of Wales Hospital. Grimsby. U.K.

I had collected the data, analyzed it and presented in the audit meeting. The re audit will begin in this year to see the effectiveness of my recommendations. The audit was about how to reduce the G.A rates among the caesarean sections by patient information & education.
