Dr. Sangeetha Sivaraman

Dr. Sangeetha Sivaraman is a consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist and has studied her MBBS from JJMMC Davangere and her post-graduate diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology from JN medical college, Belgaum followed by Diplomate of the National Board of Examinations from Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain hospital in Bangalore.
During her MBBS she was selected for the prestigious ICMR student research grant and published a paper on the role of the Fite Faraco stain in mast cells in Leprosy.
She was selected during her final MBBS to go on a scholarship exchange program to University of Southern Californias Keck school of medicine and pursued a clerkship in neonatology.
During post graduation she was lauded for communication skills and presentations at national and state levels.
During her DNB she worked with a maternal fetal medicine unit under Dr Prakash Mehta.
During senior residency at Gandhinagar civil hospital she had the exposure to various surgical procedures as it was the pioneer pilot project of Laqshya program. The civil hospital conducted about 950 deliveries per month during her residency there.
She has received training in laparoscopy and fertility.
She has also completed a post graduate diploma in medical law and ethics from National law school Bangalore
She has commendable extracurricular accomplishments as a writer at a parenting website Genes2teens, as the creator of @the.she.talks.doc an Instagram page for women health and is an avid fitness buff. She used to be a trainer of Zumba fitness and has completed about 15 years of yoga, 4 years of CrossFit and 5 years of Zumba.
She is a mother of a toddler and is married to medicine and loves reading and is also a Vipassana practitioner.
Her flair for languages is striking and she is conversant in English, Kannada,Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Gujarati and can understand Malayalam and Marathi. She also learned Spanish for 2 years.
She is particular about educating her patients about the role of exercise during pregnancy antenatal and postnatal mental health, and is breastfeeding friendly.
She takes keen interest in performing open and laparoscopic surgeries and specialises in high risk obstetrics.
