Dr Ramya Shankar is an obstetrician and gynaecologist practising at Ovum Woman and Child Speciality Hospital, Banashankari, Bangalore. With 23 years of experience in the field of medicine, she holds qualifications in MBBS, DGO, DNB in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and a Fellowship in Infertility. She is also trained in fetal and gynaecological ultrasound.

Dr Ramya Shankar has served as an Assistant Professor at MVJ Medical College and Research Hospital, as well as a Senior Consultant at St Mary’s Hospital, Malur. Her special interests include treating infertile couples, providing care to women during pregnancy, delivery, and post-delivery, and offering specialised care to high-risk pregnant women, such as those with diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, and other complications during pregnancy.

She is well-versed in providing healthcare to women with gynaecological conditions, such as menstrual disorders, fibroids, and PCOS, as well as offering contraceptive options and cancer screening for the ovaries, uterus, and cervix. Dr Ramya Shankar also treats adolescents with menstrual problems.

She has received several awards, including the Sita Bhateja Award from the Bangalore Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the Best Paper Award at the 8th National Conference of the Diabetes in Pregnancy Study Group India (DIPSI) for her research on diabetes in pregnancy. Her research and multiple case reports have been published in national and international journals.
